So, since I began to tell Phillip Chiyangwa's story, the basic sentiment has been that he is a thief who stole land in Harare South.
What most people don't understand is that Phillip Chiyangwa, through Pinnacle Properties, bought a lot of farms and pockets of land in the country and, in particular, Harare South, from immigrating white farmers between 1980 and 2010.
This got him to a point where he owned most of Harare South, and today he is building a mini city called Nyore Nyore, for 250,000 residents in Harare South on 2,500 hectares of his land. Estimates are that Dr. Chiyangwa has over 10,000 hectares of land in various cities and towns in Zimbabwe, and his vision is to build similar mini cities to house 1.2 million people on his land by 2030.
A documentary on this story is coming soon. Nevertheless, after sponsoring the attempt to remove Mugabe in Tsholotsho and to have him succeeded by Dr. ED Mnangagwa, some Mugabe supporters began to agitate for Mugabe - his cousin brother - to take Phillip’s land.
As a result, Phillip Chiyangwa ended up losing some of his properties. Now that Mugabe is gone, Dr. Chiyangwa has gone to the courts, and the government is now giving him restitution for the land that he lost to expropriation without compensation. #KnowTheStoryBeforeJudging
